hester....i put the song on here for you. it meant i had to give up the candy everybody wanted...but i'll pass that bowl back around again later.

in other news...

i really had no idea that mid-cities blvd was so long...or winding.

and ....oh! there was my street!

...with no way of getting back.

but after some small navigation fixes i made it and i answered the questions. aroma of coffee and little men with dumb questions.

then i sped back home and changed in to pajamas.

then time for a few hours of tech support...

and i thought that was impossible.

trey...you will like this. i will go in to detail because you came back and are reading sometimes.

dig it. she installed sp2 on a toshiba satellite s501. yeah, i know. a laptop older than a year old and sp2 you say? yes.

so...the display went wacky first. she called toshiba and after they found out it wasn't under warranty anymore they suggested she send it in for hardware failure. only be about 300 dollars or so. cause obviously something is failing.

so then she called me.

and i immediately said...hardware failure??!! ummm...sure. let's check a few things first, eh?

for starters...

she's using spybot s&d. so we are full of spyware. cause that is useless. and we have trojans. and we have older drivers that don't work with sp2.

all of these things are big flashing neon signs of "NO!" ... but the updates said they were critical. of course.

and so we try to fix it for a while and i am beginning to think that toshiba knows more than me...and then i bit the inside of my cheek and we uninstalled sp2. had to use the hidden string to do it as it was not in add/remove.

and then we are immitating keanu reeves...all..."whoa dude"...cause there is the screen.

but now we have new worries. sp2 still lingers. can't get email. have trojans. have issues.

so now we need a system restore really. cause things are haywire. and yeah, we should have just done that to begin with...but well, that's why we call it troubleshooting i guess.

except ...
we can't get system restore to work...three months back and can't find a valid restore point. oh! what to do, what to do?

each time we try system restore we get a blue screen of death with stop errors...then safe mode. unable to restore the system....ugh.

did i mention that the display is shooting out colors and bars like an lcd that took some lsd at this point?

so we log in as administrator in safe mode. we find the exact day she installed the blasted service pack and go just one day prior. just one day.

and half an hour later...give or take a few...

it is too early to cheer. i am a realist.

but for sure...wooohooo.

and thank you.

tomorrow is a full day at the clinic.

and just because things are really good right this second i might get to go twice this week. wooohooo.

also...no matter what happens or where we go from here...i am very happy that i know her.

so a wooohooo just for me.

got to unplug festive christmas lights and get to bed.
